Bio

Hello, my name is Sydney Caballero and I am a sophomore 1st baseman and 3rd baseman for the Eagles. I have played softball since I was seven years old. When I was seven, I went to see my cousin’s softball game at SIBL Park and I instantly fell in love with not only the game, but the atmosphere of the park. I just couldn’t take my eyes off the game and the girls cheering, having a great time. I wanted so badly to be a part of it, I started playing.

When I got to high school, I played for San Fernando High all four years. My freshman year I was on JV and worked so hard that I eventually made it to Varsity my sophomore, junior, and senior years. When high school softball wasn’t in season, I played travel ball for SoCal 3D – Rubio. Thinking my softball career was over, I went on to college at Eastern New Mexico University and just focused on school and earning my degree. Soon, I came to realize that none of it felt right. I needed to play softball again. I came back home and decided to play at LA Mission College, and continue working towards my degree.

I am majoring in Communications & Media Studies, and I currently have a 3.48 GPA. I am hoping to eventually earn my Bachelor’s and build a career as a Sports Broadcaster on television.

2018 Season Highlights:

  • Chosen as the LAMC Co-Most Valuable Player and Co-Offensive Player of the Year.
  • Voted onto Western State First Team All-Conference list.
  • CCCAA All-State nominee.
  • Batted .409 with 33 RBI, 10 walks, 11 doubles, a triple, and 2 homeruns.
  • In her first-ever college game, Caballero hit 2-for-4 with 2 doubles against Rio Hondo…. Hit 3-for-4 with a homerun against Santa Barbara…. Went 3-for-3 with a homerun and 3 RBI against Orange Coast College.
