Friday September 9 L.A. Mission men’s soccer is playing at home against Taft College at 2 p.m.
The first coaches poll of the season was released September 6 and has the Eagles (2-1-2) ranked 14 in the state and Taft College (2-1-0) ranked 5.
This is the first of two match ups these schools will play during the regular season.
The eagles won their first two games of the season beating L.A. Harbor College 4-2 and Rio Hondo College 4-0.
Last weekend at the Hartnell Tournament they tied with both Hartnell College and Lake Tahoe Community College 0-0 and lost to Cerritos College 2-3.
Taft College has beaten Allen Hancock College and El Camino College.
Their loss came from Santa Barbara City College on September 6 after the coach’s poll was originally released.
A win for the Eagles and leading goal scorer Fernando Orellano would be a big step toward their objective of reaching playoffs.
